# Async upload

> Upload files with the partner API and poll or wait for webhooks.

Async upload accepts one or more files and returns immediately with file IDs. Processing continues in the background.

## Prerequisites

* API key ([API keys](/guides/api-keys))
* Channel ID as `queueId` ([Channels](/guides/channels))
* Document type mapped to an agent on that channel

## Upload

`POST /api/v1/queues/{queueId}/files` with multipart field `files` (repeat for multiple files). Optional form fields: `documentTypeKey`, `documentCount`.

Response **202** includes `queueId`, optional `batchId`, and `fileIds`.

## Get results

* Poll list/get document endpoints until status is Ready, or
* Subscribe to webhooks for Document ready / Document failed

## Limits

Maximum request size is 200 MB for async upload. Prefer async for multi-file or multi-document packs.
